These headers are a great value.

February 23, 2015
The finish was real nice. Welds appeared well done and sound. They bolted on without problem on the right side of the engine. The left header will not work on a 1950 Ford F4 due to interference with the stock steering box. I can be modified to clear the box if a buyer has the tools.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Merchant Response:

ZZZOOOOOME, thank you for your feedback. We appreciate hearing from you. Please note that there are different types of stainless. Many types of stainless are highly magnetic, it is only the "Austenitic" stainless groups that are not magnetic. The austenitic stainless group is 18-8 steel, in which some types will not be attracted to a magnet. Nonetheless, the quality of the stainless is not affected by these properties. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Please feel free to contact us at 800.979.0122 for further assistance and to discuss return/refund/replacement options.

The flathead center dump headers are out from the head approximately 6.10” and from the top of the flange to the bottom of the collector is 7.5”. This may end up with frame clearance issues and fit will need to be verified by measurements on your application. We do offer lake style headers for the flathead under number 9300563 which may be of interest.

These headers fit many applications but we do not list all the possibilities and options. For fit verification below are some dimensions to use to verify fit on your application: * Headers drop straight down approx. 7.5” from mount surface to bottom of collector * At exhaust ports, header sticks out approx. 2.25” * At bottom of block, collector sticks out apporx. 4.25” * Tube Size: 1-3/4" * Collector Size: 2-1/2" * Collector Flange Outlet: 2-1/2" * Not for use with stock wishbone front suspension

These headers fit many applications and to verify fit we suggest some basic dimension comparisons from the below specifications. Your steering and suspension style and location makes many variations possible. * Headers drop straight down approx. 7.5” from mount surface to bottom of collector * At exhaust ports, header sticks out approx. 2.25” * At bottom of block, collector sticks out apporx. 4.25” * Block flange on these headers is 7/16" thick * Tube Size: 1-3/4" * Collector Size: 2-1/2" * Collector Flange Outlet: 2-1/2" * Not for use with stock wishbone front suspension

Those headers should fit on your `35 Ford, I do have notes on these that the will NOT work with stock wishbones. I have measurements on our website under the Specs tab, I would recommend measuring just to be sure they will fit.

Currently there is not an available listing for the right hand drive Mercury. Some of the same requirements do apply as follows. * Headers drop straight down approx. 7.5” from mount surface to bottom of collector * At exhaust ports, header sticks out approx. 2.25” * At bottom of block, collector sticks out apporx. 4.25” * Block flange on these headers is 7/16" thick * Tube Size: 1-3/4" * Collector Size: 2-1/2" * Collector Flange Outlet: 2-1/2" * Not for use with stock wishbone front suspension Some basic measurements should help determine fit on your application.

These headers work on many Flathead applications where center dump lead downs can be used but will not work with stock wishbones. As with all headers having dimensions available some basic measuring before ordering will help verify fit. Below are some dimensions to compare to your vehicle before ordering: * Headers drop straight down approx.

The right header is ok. The stock steering box will prevent the left header from being used unless it is modified or the steering box replaced with a smaller unit.

An application chart is not available and some basic measurements can verify fit on your F3. Headers drop down 7-1/2", at exhaust ports the headers stick out 2-1/4", and at the bottom of the block the collector sticks out 4-1/4".

Header Dimensions (GIF)

Application Note: These headers wont fit most Model Ts or Model As due to narrow the frame width, particularly on the passenger side. 1948-52 Ford F1 (1/2 ton) pick-ups will have interference with one bolt on the stock steering box. That bolt can usually be modified so that the headers can be used. The headers will not work in 3/4 ton or larger trucks from 1948-52. Most 1942-48 Mercury cars will require shimming of the motor mount for steering clearance.
