Answer this question
A:
You inquired about our Vega box and the option of mounting it to match up to the old style F-150 steering and I assume you are referencing traditional steer where the drag link runs from the pitman arm to the drivers side front wheel. There is the possibility that this could be done as the rotation of the output shaft would be correct if the steering gear were mounted so the output was vertical. Only problem is the entire box would have to be mounted outside the frame and U-joint angles would definitely be a problem. The Vega is considered a cross steer box. If you don’t like our reversed Corvair box a good option is the Mustang box which is also designed for traditional steer but has it’s advantages and one being that the pitman arms points upward instead of down like the Corvair. In either of these cases the cost is significantly more but will take a lot less time in mounting and with less problems encountered.
