Speedway part number 715201. This steering column is a universal column, that measures 30" from the end of the DD shaft to the base if the splines where the steering wheel attatches. This may work in a 56 Chevy, but the original steering gearbox would need to be modified and you would need to make mounts under the dash. We also have part number 91032419, which is meant for 55-56 Chevys and is a tilt column.

Part number 715201 This has the connection for the horn plunger lead to the horn button. On our website and in our catalog you can see the dark/black connection towards the back side of the splined shaft where the steering wheel adapter or wheel attaches.
