Q & A

What's in the Box

This dropout battery box allows you to put your battery somewhere out of the way while still maintaining access. The box normally locks in the up position or it also drops down and locks 4-1/4" lower if needed. You can also drop the box completely out for maintenance.

Accepts batteries up to 10-1/2" long, 7" wide, and 8" tall.

Battery box

January 30, 2016
This box went I'm my 55 Chevy Truck The nice thing about it is it's very easy to drop down The bad part about it is it all has to be welded before you install it, I received two this way. The tabs fall off both sides for the slides.
No, I would not recommend this product.

Christmas package

January 06, 2016
FedEx delivered my package to the wrong house. The neighbors five or six houses down took 7 days to figure out it was not theirs. All the while I was freaking out because it was lost. The wonderful customer service rep was very helpful and was willing to ship another one overnight if we had to in order for me to get it in time. They returned phone calls and followed through better than any company I had to deal with during th holidays. I have never been more pleased to spend money with such a great company.
Pros:
  • great customer service
  • Great product
Yes, I recommend this product.

Great box and a great price. But somethin

July 11, 2014
The box fit under my truck so I could put a deep cycle battery for powering items so my starter battery will not be drained and not start the truck. The battery hold down could have been designed better. The "T" slot seems like it should have been machined upside down so that the hold down bar can't slide up and then pop out of the slot. I put a bolt into the slot to prevent that from happening. Other than that, it was built well, and functions well, allowing me to get to the battery terminals and then slide up out of the way.
Pros:
  • functions well
  • Built well
Cons:
  • t slot for battery hold down isn't right
Yes, I recommend this product.

This drop out battery box needs to be mounted to a vertical surface and can be bolted in place or welded in place. It allows more access for jump starting or battery removal when set at the lowered position.

This battery box is a pretty universal piece. If you have the room for it on your frame rail (something you will need to determine by looking underneath your van and measuring the area you wish it to occupy), it should make a fine addition to your vehicle. The battery box accepts a battery up to 10-1/2" long, 7" wide, and 8" tall. The battery box itself measures 11-1/4" LONG, 7 3/4" WIDE, 9 1/4" TALL.

This box drops down a little forward instead of straight down and is made of a steel material. For the most current price and availability please call us at 800-979-0122 where we can figure your shipping costs as well.

The battery box is suitable for a low-speed, off-road situation (such as maybe a Rock Crawler), but I would not recommend it for a high-speed, pounding, bouncing off the ground type of situation.

The polished version is stainless steel. Sorry the exact alloy of stainless material that these are made of is unknown. The material is not magnetic so that leads me to believe that it is possibly a 300 series stainless steel and most likely will have good corrosion resistance.

This battery box does not have a weight rating on it. It will handle the weight of any battery that will fit into it. Automotive batteries are constructed of lead so they are very heavy for their size. This was taken into consideration when building this box.
