Deluxe brake kit

Nice kit. Some things are doubled up like castle nuts. I have a 67 wagon and the right steering arm that bolts to the spindle is a little thicker than the the other three. And all the bolts were the same size so I had one that was .5 inch too short. No dust shields. But other than that its a great kit. Wonderful for the price.

Drum to Disc brake conversion kit.

I have a 67 Impala. I just recently purchased this kit. They were back ordered on the wheel seals, but you can pick them up at any local parts store. The rotors come with the inner and outer races already installed, so the ones that come with the inner bearings are just extras. Everything fits just fine and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The only bad thing is I had to replace my steel brake lines because the fittings to the proportioning valves were froze up. Eventually I will have to replace the proportioning valve so I can get the right pressure to all brakes. But for now they work just fine. I have looked else where and these guys have the best price for this conversion any where.

No this brake kit will not fit your 68 Oldsmobile. In the 60"s the Chevy spindles were different from what the Buick and Oldsmobile cars used. Sorry I do not have a brake kit for your application.

No this kit requires 15" wheels minimum that are a disc brake style wheel. The original 14" 1966 Chevelle wheels will not fit with this brake kit.

Kit number 91031912 is for the full size 1965-68 Chevy passenger cars and can be used on the 69 and 70 if you swap spindles and install the earlier 65-68 spindles onto your 69 or 70 Impala or Bel Air. We apologize but do not offer the earlier spindles and these would be a salvage yard or restoration supplier part.

We apologize but the kit offered for the Chevy will not work on the Buick. In those years the spindles were different from one GM make to the other. When we got into the late 60’s to early 70’s the use of one spindle may cover more than one make.

On kit number 91031912 for the 65-68 full size if you are going with manual or power brakes we recommend a 1” bore master cylinder such as number 91031445 or 91031428. The big reservoir will plumb direct to the front brakes and the small reservoir to the rear brakes with an adjustable proportioning valve such as number 91031353.

Kit number 91031912 will work on your 68 Caprice spindles and use the 69-77 GM calipers which are single piston. Stopping power should be sufficient for your 69 Impala as long as the pedal ratio is 6.5 to 1 or greater or if using with power brakes you have sufficient Vacuum of 18-20 inches at the booster. Use of your existing dust shields is questionable and would simply be a trial and error for any modifications needed.

Currently Speedway only offers one backing plate or dust shield. Part number is 91034904 with the following specifications : Inside Diameter : 1.950 " Centerline of Holes : 4.115 " Material Type : Steel Finish : Zinc Sold in Quantity : Pair Lower two bolt holes are .5", upper hole is .625". Center of lower bolt to upper is 5.468".
