What's in the Box

Looking for a little more interior room and a lower profile in your T roadster? Then try our Deluxe '27 T! The all-new Deluxe '27 frame features the same triangulated four-bar rear suspension as the Deluxe T, but with a longer wheelbase and extended rear frame section to accommodate Speedway's high-quality fiberglass '27 T roadster body. The body-and-frame combo can be used to build a hot rod with the same open engine bay and fenderless look of a T-bucket, but offers a lower seating position and a lot more legroom. Try it on for size!

Shown with optional rearend and engine mounts installed. This part number does not include a rear axle housing or engine/transmission mounts (as pictured). If you wish to add these items to your chassis, simply purchase these items along with your frame kit.

All of our T kits are also available with chrome suspension.  This option includes chrome plated: front and rear hairpins, rear coilovers, front axle, front leaf spring, front shocks, steering arms, tie rod, drag link, and related hardware.

Beautiful fabrication that was cheaper than boxing original frame. Although shape is a little more trapezoid shape it fit a 26 T touring car with limited cutting of rear seat floor. Engineering location of floor mounts for body was expected and quality of materials and workmanship was great.
Yes, I recommend this product.

If this frame is extended in the front, could a Mustang II crossmember be used? I'm interested in putting together a Track-T with independant front suspension. I believe the 413-201 crossmember, with 910-34320, 910-34335, 910-34304 and 910-34340-POW should work, but I think the front of the frame will need to be extended. Will this work? Are there any problems that I'll be likely to encounter?

Our Track T kit does not use the 27 T-Bucket frame. The Track T has it’s own specific tubular frame which is narrower than the standard T frame so the side skirts and hood panels would not be a perfect fit. To get the lowered stance the front and rear frames have a kick up or Z to help lower the car. Going with a Mustang II could be made to work but all the components from engine forward would be in the open and in most cases not a desirable look. Power steering is normally not needed in these lighter cars and the space for the pump, lines, etc. is limited. It’s a rodders world and anything can be done but unfortunately we don't offer these options.

Depending upon the drive train on the T buckets and 27 frame kits the front axle centerline is at the top of the frame and up to an inch or so above the frame. On the rear the axle centerline is at the bottom of the frame or an inch or so below and this is not including the kickup in the frame but the main rail before the kickup.

Yes we have customers that install big blocks from time to time and the weight of the engine doesn't seem to be an issue.

If the bare 27 frame is ordered and then the rear suspension components are needed we can provide the parts for the suspension but you will have to weld the brackets onto the frame and the rear end. An actual part number for the suspension is not available. The items would be ordered individually since we typically do not sell the suspension as a kit by its self.

The deluxe 27 T chassis is not a great fit for the original 26 roadster body but can be made to work. The original wheelbase was 99 ¼ and our 27 chassis is 116” wheelbase. The axle sets ahead of the spring and cross member whereas the original had spring on top of the axle and under the front cross member. The original frame was flat and our 27 chassis frame has the kick up in the rear for a lower ride height. The front dimension is the same in width but the original in back was way wider in comparison to the Speedway 27 frame. If planning on fenders and running boards the requirements of brackets and major modifications come into play.

The Deluxe 27 chassis once completed and ready to go is approximately 7-10 inches from the frame to the ground at ride height. This varies by the tire diameters and preload on the springs. Normally the rear is higher than the front.

will his frame work for a 1927 roadster pick up?

Answers

This frame is not like an original 27 frame with the straight frame rails. This frame has a kick up over the rear end to give it the lower stance and in the front the spring is behind the axle instead of on top to get the lower stance. An original 27 roadster pickup body will not be a bolt on and the length of the frame would need to be modified. Also Fenders and running boards along with hood and other body parts would require extensive modification to make a full fendered roadster pickup.

Can you use a 23 Deluxe channeled body on the 27 frame? If I chose this set up would it be best to move body back the difference between the wheel to wheel or just leave as is and make the 20 inch bed longer . Or move eng and trans mounts with brake and steering back to fit?

On the T bucket frames the channeled body sits back 42” from the front and the edge of the body is on the outside of the frame. To go back much further the body would need to be cut away for clearance and the frame would be showing on the outside of the body more the further back you slid the body. On the Standard T bucket frame the width at the firewall is 25 ½” and at the rear of the body 28”.
