Inline 6 cylinders are typically too long and do not fit well in these T bucket kits. Four cylinder, V6 and V8 engines typically fit fine in the space provided.

Speedway is not aware of anyone that has used that particular power plant but with the increasing popularity of the smaller motors with high output it may be a good option for an engine. Space from firewall to radiator is at a minimum for a small block V8 and with the front components on the newer motor it may be suggested to take some comparable dimensions to insure fit without frame modification. In hot rodding the only limit is the builders imagination.

The “channeled” floors in our T-bucket bodies are raised approximately 3” into the body. This means that the body will sit around the frame (instead of directly on top of it), providing a lower overall stance. Bodies with the “flat floor” have a floor which sits flush with the bottom of the tub, meaning that the tub will sit directly on top of the frame. Please see the “T-Bucket Body Basics” video on this page for more information.

The rear end brackets for either the four bar or the triangulated four link or the radius rods come with the chassis kits. If you order the 9” rear end at the same time the brackets are welded on in the correct place free of charge and comes installed on the chassis.

Can the "t" style frame be fitted with a "mustang II" style rack and pinon unit?

Can the "t" style frame be fitted with a "mustang II" style rack and pinon unit?

We don't have a rack that would allow a T frame to use a mustang II rack. A mustang II rack needs to be mounted stationary, and is best used with independent suspension, otehrwise you will have tremendous bump steer. Aside from not being IFS, the probleom with mounting a rack to a T frame is there's really no room to mount it. There might be someone out there who has done this, but I don't have the parts to make it work.
