What's in the Box

Speedway deluxe king pins are a great improvement over stock-style king pins. They replace the original brass king pin bushings with precision needle bearings that provide superior strength, better lubrication and easier steering. They're simple to install and are an easy, cost-effective way to upgrade your 1949-54 Chevy suspension, as well as tubular or I-beam street rod axles using 1949-54 Chevy spindles.

Use with 916-32100 or 916-32104 spindles.

  1. This deluxe king pin kit requires the spindle bore to be enlarged to a minimum of 1.0620" and a maximum of 1.0630" to properly accept the king pin bearings.

These king pins fit the 1949-54 Chevy cars and carry the following king pin dimensions. O.D. of .867 and length of 5.3” and for other applications you will need to verify dimensions for cross reference.

Using the car king pin needle bearing set on a pickup could be done but for full gain the axle boss height would also need to be changed. The passenger car set has a lower bearing that carries the weight of the vehicle but on the pickup there is what is referred to as a thrust washer that is less than half the bearing height. To use this bearing you would also need to change either the axle boss or one of the arms of the spindle to increase the room to accept the bearing.
