The plywood floor will need to be epoxied and fiberglassed in place. If you are not familiar with this sort of work then we highly suggest getting a body with a floor already installed such as 7152550 or 7152554.

We apologize but do not have the drawing requested. The T-bucket frames are 23.5” wide at the front and 28.5 wide at the rear. 42” back from the front is where the front edge of the firewall rests and at the rear of the body is 28” frame width. At the front of the firewall the frame is 25 ½ wide to allow for the body to just channel down over the frame. In our catalog and on the web is some additional body dimensions.

Part # 9002500 The dash is not over reinforced to carry the total support of the steering column and would require some additional reinforcing to handle the load. We do offer our firewall bracket mount that we use in our kits under part number 7154255 in 55 degree and also available in 50 or 60 degree depending on customers requirements. A 30” column is the normal length and when going through the 55 degree mount leaves space between the dash and the column and no support or drop is used at the dash.

You may wish to consider our T-Bucket door kit, part number: 9002202, which includes a passenger-side door and a body section to surround the door. You would need to cut a section of his existing body away and use fiberglass to mold our body section into his body. You would then install the hinges and latch assembly to and for the new opening door.

Speedway Motors offers a fiberglass 1923 T bucket body and this body has specific dimensions which vary from other manufacturers. Interior dimensions front to back and side to side, overall height, and the width at the cowl where the windshield posts mount are different from other manufacturers such as Total Performance.

We apologize for the concern on the hinge quality but these have been used extensively for years and if they have defects let us know and we can exchange for a different set. If you look on our website under part number 7152554 in the search window, click on the first small photo for the main page and this shows the door mounted. We also have a photo in our T bucket catalog on page 13 for an idea of where to mount but final decision is up to the builder. You need to make sure you have a wooden frame work around the sill and body pillars for strength.

This manual shows you how to assemble one of our 1923 T-bucket or 1927 T Roadster kits. It's full of photos and step-by-step instructions to clearly illustrate the assembly process. Manual now includes chapters on installing the engine and drivetrain, preparing and intalling the body, windshield, wiring, and even how to install upholstery.

If you're considering a T-bucket purchase, you can purchase this manual first to see what it takes to build it yourself. The manual's price is fully refundable with the purchase of a 1923 or 1927 T kit.

NOTE:    This manual provides detailed examples on the assembly of a traditional T-bucket.  The manual does not provide in detail the assembly of our Tribute-T, but can be used as a generic reference to cover basic concepts.
