Q & A

What's in the Box

Classic "Ah-oo-gah" horn sound powered by a heavy duty motor. Commonly called the ooga horn. This oogah horn provides 112 decibels and is easy to install. 12 Volt.

Notes

Relay Kit: An ah-oo-gah horn uses as much electricity as some starters. A new horn with a "grinding" or "sick cow" sound is a sure sign it isn't receiving enough amps. Cure this and prevent an overheated circuit with relay 910-64044 and prewired plug kit 913-64381. This kit is highly recommended for safety reasons and best tone.

Doesn't sound anything like a horn

May 17, 2012
Doesn't sound like "aahoogah", sounds like a chainsaw or something electrical buzzing very loudly. If I were hearing this horn in another car, I'd be wondering what the heck the noise was. Returning :-(
Pros:
  • Easy To Install
No, I would not recommend this product.

Small and Loud

November 24, 2013
Small enough to mount under my T Bucket and loud enough to hear over the headers. The relay kit is a must in all new installs, or it will sound like a sick cow.
Cons:
  • No mounting bracket
Yes, I recommend this product.

What are the different parts of the horn made of ( steel or plastic )? I think it would be better if the relays needed for this item showed the diagram for a horn and not a fan or other items.

On this horn the trumpet is plastic and the majority of the rest is metal including the motor. As far as the relay wiring is concerned it make no difference if wiring into a fan or horn, the power to the component comes from the relay giving full voltage. The fan/horn is then grounded to complete the circuit. If you do not use a relay you will not get full voltage and the intended output from the horn.

The bottom side of the horn has a slot where an included 4 sided bolt slides into for mounting. With the 1 bolt mounting we suggest a fairly substantial mounting surface to avoid damage to the surface from vibration.

Not really. It just needs a groung and a hot wire to operate. The relay just obsorbs the amperage draw, and is easier on the horn contacts. This prevents "arc flash" on the horn contacts.

Part # 91122660 If using this horn in place of the existing horns it could be wired in and use the existing relay. If wanting to add this and still retain the original horns then we suggest the basic relay kit number 91064044 and a push button switch such as number 91364381
