question about bearing spacer when using this tube axle and stock 1940 spindles I can only get the bearing between the spindle and axle, do I need the dust shields and felt washers, there is no room for them. Thanks Jeff

The dust shield should come on the bearing and the open side goes down. If you can’t get this in there then you will need to clearance the axle or spindle or both. The cup washer and felt washer goes under the top head of the kingpin.

Your 40 Ford likely has a 48" kingpin to kingpin centerline but you would need to measure to make sure. Next the 37-41 years ran 38 ½" perch centers and the axle in question number 91035118 has 36 3/8" perch centers pulling the wishbones together at the front and also decreasing the distance for the spring hangers. This would then require a shorter spring. Therefore we apologize that it is not a direct bolt in. Sorry we do not offer a direct bolt in chrome axle for your '41 Ford Coupe.
