What's in the Box

This is the easiest to install, easiest to adjust CNC machined distributor you will find. Just drop in as you normally would, hook up the three wires, set the initial timing, run a vacuum line to the advance and you are ready to dial it in. Literally. The knob on the side allows you to change timing up or down 1/2 a degree at a time. Starts producing a super hot spark at 50 rpm for easy starting and keeps putting out through 10,000 rpm. It also has a small diameter cap to clear tight fit applications.

  • Cap diameter is 4.138 or slightly over 4 1/8”
  • Cap diameter at the hold down boss is 4.624 or approximately 4 5/8”
  • Cap height is 4.354 or about 4 3/8” from attachment surface to top of male plug wire post
  • Comes with the plug wire retainer plate and a 3 wire pigtail with female plug in

Cap has HEI-style terminals. Fits Small Block and Big Block Chevy V8.

My next rod will have one of these for sure...great distributor, looks great. Replaced a mallory unilite with this and can feel the difference.Will be going to Bonneville and the adjustability will be neat to have!!

Nice part- instructions could be better

Very nice product- the adjustment knob is an amazing idea. No wonder it won at SEMA in '09! The only thing that could be better are the 'instructions' - mine came with the vacuum advance lockout installed (the vacuum advance WAS included though), and there were no instructions included to install it. The instructions to REMOVE the vacuum advance and install the lockout would work in reverse, except that you can't re-install the snapring without first pulling the roll pin and sliding the shaft up a few inches so the snapring clears. Aside from that, it looks like a great product and think it will work out nicely.

Does what it advertized to do. But add said it came with both a male and female cap. it only had the male cap. Hade to buy new wires and make them to fit because of male cap. All said it's still a great distributor! i would recomend it.

The mating weatherpack plug in is not included with our PN # 91030000 powerfire distributor, however we do offer PN # 91012213 weather pack set $8.99 that will work with that plug in. The recommended coil is PN # 5478202 $41.99

This Professional products Powerfire distributor has easy 3-wires to install with no external spark box necessary, however you could run an MSD 6AL ignition box with this distributor. I recommend you follow the instructions on the MSD 6AL to hook the distributor up to the MSD box. This distributor also features a fully adjustable advance mechanism with easy to use spring and bushing design for a nearly infinite advance curve. You can also change timing up or down 1/2 a degree at a time with the dial on the side. I also recommend using the Blaster coil p/n 5478202 with this distributor. Replacement parts are available thru Speedway Motors. Cap p/n 91030101, Rotor p/n 91030102

Part number 91030000 This distributor will only work on the small block and the 396, 402, 427, 454 and up big blocks. Currently Speedway offers the Joe Hunt mag look distributor and the MSD pro Billet distributors for the 348-409 engines.

When using this distributor a ballast resistor is NOT required if the correct ohm rating coil is used. This particular distributor dictates the use of a .7 ohm coil to avoid the use of a ballast resistor such as our part number 5478202.

This distributor comes with a cast drive gear and is compatible with cast cams whether solid or hydraulic but will not work with aftermarket roller camshafts or other high performance cams made of billet. You may want to check with the cam manufacturer for metal composition. If in need of a specific drive gear you may also want to check with Professional Products for availability. The cap is currently only available in black and in the HEI style of terminals.
