I'm running a 67 camaro. How do you determine the spring lbs. I don't want to get them to heavy and drive like a tank, but yet don't want it to loose. I'm looking at the 200lbs set????? thanks gordon

Speedway part number 2552254D. To come up with a ballpark spring rate, we would take the weight of the rear of the car, length of spring and the angle it's mounted at. A 67 Camaro should weigh about 3200 lbs, so about 1600 give or take in the rear. A Carrera 10" spring rate for a car that weighs about 1650 lbs is 275 lbs/in. If the coil over is mounted at an angle, the rate will need to be adjusted accordingly. We have a chart here on out website that explains this http://static.speedwaymotors.com/images/charts/how-coilovermount.gif . I think you could start with a 250 or a 275 rate, depending on what your car weighs and the angle the coil over will be mounted at.

The shock assembly must first be removed from the vehicle. To disassemble this unit, the spring must be compressed enough to allow access to a snap-ring that is hidden under the height adjuster. It will help to spin the adjuster collar down to the bottom so the inner sleeve can be moved farther toward the top of the shock. Remove the snap-ring from the bottom of the shock body. Now the spring can be slid down over the bottom end of the shock. The upper spring retainer can be removed by first removing the Safety Pin from the collar and then sliding the collar off sideways. To reassemble, simply reverse the procedure.

A coil over mount such as 91636010 could be used on the top or bottom.
