Great idea, just poorly made

December 03, 2012
This idea is great. Screwed it directly into a spare invert flare port on the front brake circuit of the master cylinder. Unfortunately, the first full brake apply test caused it to massively fail. Note that another reviewer also had a leak at the plastic to metal crimp seam. I wonder what pressure it is actually rated for?
No, I would not recommend this product.

Why didn't someone think of this sooner

January 29, 2012
This solved a real problem very easily. I tried to find an adapter for male 3/8-24 inverted flare to 1/8-27 female pipe thread-- they just don't exist.
Pros:
  • Easy To Install
Yes, I recommend this product.

Switch failed lost brake pressure

July 29, 2012
The switch had less than 2000 miles of use when it failed. The failure occurred where the metal housing and the plastic switch were crimped together, the leak was so bad I lost all rear braking force. Since it was installed on the rear brake circuit I did have some front braking power left. It was installed in a 1937 Dodge pickup that took 3 years to build, fortunately I was able to stop without hitting anything. Speedway replaced the switch but I did not install it, went to a standard mechanical brake light switch.
Pros:
  • Easy To Install
No, I would not recommend this product.
