Easily install 11" rotors and 1978-88 GM Metric calipers to your 1937-48 Ford passenger car style spindles with no machine work needed. This disc brake kit is great for street rods based on 1932-1948 Fords. For lightweight cars like T-buckets or early roadsters, we recommend the Wilwood kits. This front disc brake conversion kit works well with bolt-on steering arms. The 11" diameter rotors have the GM wheel bolt pattern of 5 x 4-3/4". Calipers have 7/16"-20 inlets.

Doesn't get any easier than this

I'm still in mock up, so I haven't locked everything down or road tested it. To this point everything went together like butter. It could easily be a weekend job or just an afternoon, start to finish. I didn't see it in the description ,but mine didn't come with the outer bearings. LM11949 Very happy with this purchase

This is the third kit I have brought like this and this one is the best, It has every thing A-Z for front brakes, bearings for the front axel assy. Easy to install no guess work!

overall good product,however the races could have been changed prior to shipping thus saving the customer money and a trip to the machine shop,the caliper mount had to be trimed on the one side,not a big deal.good price for the money if races were changed prior to shipping.

On a 48” axle the track width with brake kit number 91031946 is 56.22 or 4.11” per side for the spindle and brakes. On your drums measure from the kingpin center line to the face of the drum for comparison.

This kit will work on 37-48 spindles including the 42-48 square back as the bolt pattern for mounting is the same.

Since the caliper bracket goes between the rotor and spindle on the outside the nearly any upper steering arm should work fine whether it be the hoop style, flat plate, or the laser cut steel arms.

I bought this kit. What "bolt on" steering arms are you saying will fit? I need to use something on the order of 7022754 just to try to clear the caliper which appears to stick out about 2" and I don't think those would work. Wish I had known that

Yes the steering arms 7022754 work just fine with this brake kit. Most all bolt on steering arms for Ford spindles will work with this kit.

Camber is built into a solid axle front end and should be ½ to 1 ½ positive. Castor which is the tilt of the kingpin back at the top is adjusted by the hairpins or the four bars at the threaded rod ends or clevis and on a wishbone style by the location of the mount where wishbone mounts to the side of the frame. You commonly need 5-7 degrees positive castor.

The rotors in this kit are from a 73 to 77 GM intermediate cars such as a Chevelle/Malibu.

An original master cylinder can be used depending on application and bore size of the master cylinder. With a non boosted master cylinder a pedal ratio of 6.5 to 1 is suggested in order to supply enough pedal pressure to safely stop. We also recommend upgrading to a dual reservoir master for the safety factor gained. Plumbing with 3’/16 line to the disc brakes will also help achieve the higher pressure needed for the calipers and an adjustable proportioning valve is needed for the rear drum brakes along with residual valves both front and rear with 2 psi in front and 10 psi for the rear drum brakes.
