I liked the unit. take your time and this crossmember fits in nice. i found out if you are putting in a 351 c you will have to use a rear sump oil pan. i did my crossmember install by my self, and you can do it with the front sheet metal still on the car. like i said take your time, it took me about 3 days in my spare time . and the motor mount kit fit like a glove. hats off to speedway motors.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Yes this 35-40 bolt in cross member can be used with air ride. We offer a hub to hub kit number 91034215 which is for air ride. You will still need the compressor, tank, and plumbing to complete the system with air ride. We offer basic kits to four corner kits with the tank/tanks, lines, plumbing, etc. from which to choose.

You will need to also purchase a hub to hub kit such as 91034202 to use on this crossmember. Sorry I do not offer a Flathead motor mount kit for this. You would need to fabricate mounts for the engine.

No this crossmember will not fit your 37 Pontiac. You will need to use a universal crossmember such as 413201 or 413202. Measure the outside width of your frame and your hub to hub width of your current suspension to determine which universal crossmember will work best for your application.

The Flathead engine can be used with this crossmember but the original engine location cannot be retained and the stock mounts cannot be used. If you push the cross member back in the frame this will also move your wheels that far back in the wheel opening. The next issue is the engine would need to be moved some for the oil pan to clear the cross member.

Wheel offset or inset is purely personal preference and wheel and tire combination. This cross member with the complete hub to hub kit using 11” rotors offered by Speedway nets a 57.5” track width with Ford/Mopar bolt pattern and 58.5” track width is using the GM bolt pattern. This is hub face to hub face right where the wheels will bolt on. From those dimensions and some basic measurements on your vehicle you will be able to determine the best fit for wheel and tire combination. If needing a narrower track width than referenced we offer 5/8” narrower per side control arms in the tubular kits for a net decrease in track width of 1 ¼”.

This bolt in cross member for the 1935 to 1940 Fords will accept our hub to hub Mustang II kits in various fashions or styles. We offer an economical stamped control arm version such as part number 91034100 up to our 91034215 in tubular configuration with air ride and Wilwood brakes. For ease of assembly and the elimination of the standard Ford style strut rods we recommend part number 91034202 which includes tubular control arms, choice of manual or power rack, spring rate choice, bolt pattern for wheel choice, and includes everything hub face to hub face including the 11” brakes for sufficient braking. Drop spindles are available at no additional cost. The Mustang II style suspension will net a 2 ½ to 3” drop in ride height and adding the 2” drop spindles could easily get you 5” of drop. In the case of the 40 Fords the nose chin below the grille will be fairly low if opting for the dropped spindles.

This bolt in cross member should fit the ’35-40 Ford car and the ’35-41 Ford pickup. In the case of the panel it should work fine.

This bolt in cross member kit is specific to the frame dimensions of the 1935-40 Ford car or the 1935-41 Ford pickup and will not be a match up to other applications without major modification and alteration. If a bolt in kit is not offered you may want to consider a weld in version and for applications not listed we do have universal kits under part number 413201 and 413202 depending on the outside dimensions of your frame.

I would like to get the frame dimensions that this fits. I like the bolt in concept and wondered if 1950 Studebaker pickup frame dimensions might be the same or close to the Ford that this is built for.

This is a bolt in cross member kit specific for the 35-40 Ford and dimension. The frame rails on these cars are not parallel but some approximate dimensions are 24 1/2" at the front of the cross member and 25 1/2" at the rear. Outside dimensions are also not parallel and basically 28” at the front of the member. A match up to another vehicle is not recommended unless suspension and chassis set up is well educated. Certain things such as ending ride height and steering geometry come into play. Your best recourse would be a universal weld in that we have available to cover most frame widths under part number 413201 for frames up to 30” wide outside to outside or 413202 for frames up to 33 ½” outside to outside.
