What's in the Box

Info

Take away the guess work and make it easier to fine tune your chassis adjustments! Now it's easy to order the correct shocks for your IMCA dirt modified. These Bilstein DP-1 steel race shocks are factory calibrated to achieve the correct valving at each wheel. They are the basic setup for an average track with average conditions.
  • Monotube body dissipates heat more effectively than twin-tube designs
  • Nitrogen gas puts shock oil under pressure to totally prevent shock fade
  • Allows for more precise, consistent set-ups
  • Weight transfer when you need it
  • Tires will stay on the track through the rough spots
  • Better control under braking

Shocks also available separately for easy replacement.

No, these are not Hobby stock legal. The shock rule reads as follows: SHOCKS: One unaltered steel, nonadjustable, OEM-mount shock, in OEM location, per wheel. No bulb-type, threaded body, coil-over, air, or remote reservoir shocks. Maximum 2.125 inch O.D. shock body. No gas port, Schrader or bladder type valve allowed. No coil-over eliminators. Rear OEM shock location is 4.5 inches from bottom of housing to center of bolt hole, and centered on control arm bracket. $25 claim on any shock. One or all shocks on car may be claimed per event, counting as one claim on card, following shock claim procedures and penalties (Refer to www.imca.com).

Bilstein will not publish valving for DP series of shocks. They have designed these for specific corners on your race car. Fell free to call in and speak to a shock tech for more information or you can call bilstein direct

Was just wondering what the valving is on the LR shock, wondering if I need to purchase another shock for dry slick or is this a 7-2 which would work for both, thanks.

The valving on the shock can not be disclosed per Bilstein. The LR in the DP1 package is a good all around shock. We can however recommend, from our experiences; that a 1060COB (custom built shock) works extremely well on dry slick conditions. This is a great add-on to complete the package.

These shocks were originally developed for A Mod but in many cases they seem to work very well on Sport Mods as well. These are an excellent base package and after you get some races on them we can tweak the valving in them or get you another shock or two to help promote the handling of your car as needed.

This package would not be ideal for an asphalt car. This package is intended for a dirt modified. Sorry we do not have a shock package designed specifically for an asphalt IMCA car. You may want to give us a call to go over some options on a custom package for your application.
