This coil spring kit is designed for T bucket style vehicles weighing in at 1500-1800 pounds total weight. The springs are only available in the 175 spring rate and this set only uses 4 ½” spring. We do offer some spring pockets and housing mounts for the larger 5” diameter springs such as part number 91720243.

Does the spring mount behind the axle? How does the lower spring mount attach to the axle. I have a 28 model A pickup with the coil spring mounted on top of axle makes back end set too high.

I HOPE YOU JUST TACKED MOUNTS IN PLACE IF SO TRY TO SPACE TOP MOUNTS (SEE PHOTO) FLOOR OF BED WILL NEED OPENINGS CUT TO CLEAR SPRING MOUNT. LAST RESORT IS CUT THE COILS OR YOU MIGHT TRY SPRING CLAMPS

Kit p/n 91649020 also mounts the coil spring to the top of the axle which makes the coil spring mount on top of the axle like your does.

Trying to find kit for 4 link conversion I'm doing I have a 1947 Ford panel truck. Putting 4 link on rear, I know these are light duty, but with adding air shocks for added control would this kit be viable? I seen the bottom mount for 5" coil spring, but no top, or spring. Thanks

This is a basic coil spring kit and includes two upper spring mounts designed for our T bucket frames, two lower mounts for a 3” axle housing tube, and two 175 pound springs. These are basically for the T buckets and light roadsters with total vehicle weight of around 2000 pounds and the 4 ½ O.D. springs would likely not be heavy enough for your panel truck. We apologize that other spring rates are NOT available in this diameter of springs. You may want to consider Coil Over suspension or other options.

The springs in this kit are 14" tall and 175 pound spring rate. You would need to weigh your vehicle to calculate an approximate height of the spring with the weight of the vehicle on it.
