These B&M Street/Strip automatic transmission and converter combinations are designed to be used in street rods and muscle cars making serious power. The included Nitrous Holeshot converter has a higher stall speed (2300-2500 RPM) which allows you to run a little more cam without having the car pulling on the brakes all the time.

This TH400 is ideal for use with BB Chevy engines and has 2.48 first, 1.48 second and 1:1 high gears. Uses the short tail shaft and has an adjustable modulator and B&M internals. Ships by truck.

B&M TH400 Features: 

  • 2.48 first, 1.48 second, 1:1 third gears
  • Rebuilt front pump utilizes B&M pressure regulator spring & shims
  • All new B&M hi-performance friction plates, thrust bearings & races
  • New intermediate roller clutch & kickdown band with welded anchors
  • Machined center support with new case saver ring
  • New adjustable modulator & silencer ring; external electric connector & kickdown solenoid
  • Recalibrated valve body
  • 34 element sprag with special drum

Nitrous Holeshot Converter Features:

  • Furnace brazed impeller
  • New precision steel alloy pump drive tube
  • New heavy duty needle bearing between stator and impeller (not a thrust washer)
  • Needle bearing between stator and turbine
  • Furnace brazed turbine
  • New turbine hub
  • New springs and rollers in stator
  • Anti-balloon plates to stand up to the instant horsepower Big Blocks and nitrous deliver

Is there anyway to disable the automatic shift in this transmission so the driver has control over when the shift occurs at any RPM?
