These universal kits work on any 6" to 12" deep fuel cell even with uneven sealing surfaces.  Mounts your pump in tank and features a return line and a vent line.

Considering a switch to EFI or swapping in that late model motor? What has recently become the hottest trend in hot rodding has been plagued by fuel delivery. The question is always, what do I do for a tank? Up until now, it’s been one of three options. Weld in a sump to your tank, go with a fuel cell or pay for a custom tank. Well, not any more. Aeromotive’s Phantom Fuel System gives you the option to put a high performance fuel pump inside virtually any fuel tank, including your factory tank.

Simply cut a hole in the tank. Measure the depth and then cut the pump hanger bracket to length along with the baffle / basket foam. Insert the baffle and nstall the retainer ring and gasket, then bolt the pump and hanger assembly down. That’s it. Now you have a fuel pump inside your factory tank capable of supporting big horsepower EFI or Carbureted applications and it's whisper quiet.

No more welding sumps or using up trunk space with fuel cells. No more hot fuel handling issues like vapor-lock and no more fuel slosh. The Phantom system’s internal baffle / basket controls fuel slosh and keeps the fuel pump submerged in fuel, even at low fuel levels and in aggressive driving. Sorry this is only available as a complete kit with the fuel pump. If you want to use this in tank pump system you would be much better off using this complete kit as is. We do not recommend retrofitting another fuel pump into this system.

Would this work for my 81 monte carlo tank? It has a 99 chevy 5.3L vortec engine, and if it does work, then would it fit in my tank or would I have to modify my tank?

Yes this fuel pump system will work with your 5.3L Vortec engine. It is universal to fit nearly any fuel tank. See the instructions to get an idea of what it takes to install this fuel pump.

This pump is not compatible with ethanol blended fuel above E10. Sorry it is not suited for E85 fuel.

This does not have any fuel level sending unit built into it. You will need to retain the stock fuel sending unit in order to have a functioning fuel level gauge. The stock pickup tubes in the tank can be removed or capped off as necessary for your installation.

Pump number 91018688 mounts in an applicable tank and if your engine requires 40 psi you will need a regulator with bypass such as 91013129 for return back to the tank.

You will need adapter fittings 6177020 to adapt from the -6 ORB to AN 6. Then for your vent hose you can use push on hose ends 6202002 or 62020021 to connect a 3/8" hose for a vent.

You will need to use a filter/regulator such as 91012807 in order to supply fuel to your 4.3 engine unless your engine has a regulator mounted on the fuel rail.

This is a very high flow fuel pump and requires a high flow regulator such as Aeromotive regulator 91013109. We do not suggest using this fuel pump system with the LS fuel filter/regulator.
