This product connects Small Block and Big Block Chevy engines to transmissions using the GM standard pattern such as the Muncie, Saginaw, Borg Warner T10 and Tremec TKO transmissions. This bellhousing is designed to fit GM full and midsized vehicles from 1958-1987.

  • Excellent choice for Street Rods, Street Machines, or Trucks (where SFI bellhousing is not necessary)

The engine block plate that the listing speaks of is a thin plate that is bolted to this bellhousing in order to make it SFI approved. Bellhouisings must have a full circle "block plate" in order to meet the SFI specs. You can certainly use this bellhouinsg in your Sportmod with a typical mid-plate (also called motorplate) like is used on them.

This bellhousing has the cutout and clutch fork pivot for a mechanical clutch. It will have the correct bolt pattern for the early style S10 T5 transmission which was found in 1992 and older S10's. This early S10 T5 has the same bolt pattern as a GM Muncie or Saginaw transmission.

Yes this bellhousing can be used with a hydraulic release bearing as well as a manual release bearing with a clutch fork.
