During the early 1960's through the late 1970's, AMF offered one of its most popular series of pedal cars.
The 508 and 519 AMF series was an all encompassing name given to a wide range of cars that had AMF's 500 series model numbers. Most of these pedal cars were fire themed and included the Deluxe 519 Hook and Ladder with an extended rear platform, hose reel, and a working firelight.
The 508 firefighter was a less accessorized version of the 519 that had the same body style, rear platform, a bell and ladders. Also from the 500 series came the sedan. Same body, but no rear platform and was most popular as a Fire Chief's car, a GTO, Suburbanite, Super Sport and Skylark, just to name a few. The 500 series AMF cars were also mass produced, and today are popular among the restorer/collector crowd.
These cars were offered with many different graphics painted on the sides. The background colors accurately depict original paint color schemes from AMF.
