Nice thermostat

October 21, 2014
Everything seemed of good quality and install went pretty easy. Only thing I would improve is some way to tell what the fan temp turn on temperature is. There is an adjustable pot but it's trial and error to get it set right with no marks on it.
Yes, I recommend this product.

After adjusting the temperature to turn it on, at what temp will it turn off? The instructions describe raising or lowering the activation temperature, but what about adjusting the de-activation temp? Or is there some nominal range? For example, what if I was targeting something like 205 on and 185 off? Or have I not read the instructions enough? Thank you.

The temperature probes normally have a 20 degree split from turn on to turn off. Your assumption of on at 205 and off at 185 should be fairly close.

On some applications customers have used a port in the cylinder heads or in the thermostat housing. Others have resorted to drilling and tapping an additional port in the intake manifold. The temperature probes need to be immersed in the coolant for proper operation so a T normally does not work correctly. The thermostat housing with sender port is number 7209468 and still another option would be an inline adapter in the upper hose such as number 91717627.

This adjustable fan controller can be wired to come on with the A/C compressor by hooking up the green wire to the power lead of the compressor or you can hook it up to a toggle switch for manual over ride.
