What's in the Box

Info

If you are still running the 6-volt system on your car, truck or even tractor, the generator is your weak point. Even at highway speed that old generator cannot put out enough to keep up with the lights, heater motor and radio. This alternator puts out 60 amps at 7.5 volts at highway speeds, up to 30 amps at idle, and has the regulator built in. It includes the required plug and can be installed on almost any engine by modifying or purchasing a new mounting bracket.

Specs

  • 6-5/8" from the back to the front of the pulley hub
  • 6-1/2" mounting holes on center
  • 5-1/2" across

In changing from positive to negative ground first unhook the battery terminals. On the gauges you will need to take the ammeter or voltage gauge out and reverse the wires so when running the gauge will show positive. If you have any motors such as fan motor for the heater or engine the wires will need to be reinstalled in reverse. The wires to the coil need to be reversed also or you will only get about half of the voltage up to the distributor and have a weak spark. Finally rotate the battery 180 degrees and if the cable won’t reach you will have to lengthen the cables or install new. You now have negative ground.

Hello, FYI:This 6 volt alternator will require that the car/truck have 'negative' ground. If the car/truck is currently 'positive' ground, the polarity will need to be reversed.
