What's in the Box

Info

This is the best flaring tool for the money we have found. It has a feed screw with a hardened flaring cone eccentrically mounted in needle bearings which produces a rolling action for even metal flow. This provides uniform wall thickness without galling. It will put a 37 degree flare in 3/16”, 1/4”, 5/16”, 3/8”, ½”, 5/8” and 3/4” tubing. We recommend this tool when flaring 3/16” stainless steel brake line.

  • Provides smooth, uniform flares with minimum effort
  • Feed screw handle requires less motion and effort than standard handle
  • Flares steel, stainless steel, hard copper and brass thru wall thickness of .035"

This is the best

June 21, 2016
If you are using stainless steel tubing, you must have this. Do not waste your time with the others, they will not work. Makes a nice 37 degree AN flare for my 3/16" brake line. Note I have found some stainless tubing that is slightly undersize, I just use a small piece of .002 shim stock next to the tubing and then it won't push through.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Outstanding tool

June 02, 2015
I purchased this for flaring 3/8" diameter 308 stainless .035 wall fuel line for -06AN fittings. Stainless is pretty hard to flare, and I've had cracked flares with cheaper tools. After securing the tube into this tool, I placed the tool into a vise to hold both more securely. The tool worked flawlessly and provided a perfectly centered flare. I also tried it on .028 wall with the same results. No cracked flares here! I have other 37 degree flaring tools, but those are now residing in the scrap metal bin. This is the only flaring tool I'll ever need, except of course the 45 degree version I plan on getting next!
Cons:
  • None
Yes, I recommend this product.

Yes this tool works great for flaring tubing for 37 degree AN fittings. Stainless tubing larger than 1/4" may be an issue unless the tubing has been annealed.

Ridgid's own website states that "..it will flare steel, stainless steel, hard copper, and brass thru wall thickness of .035 inches.." So the only restriction for SS should be the wall thickness and not the OD.

Although I haven’t had anybody try stainless that size, this tool should be 37 degree flaring tool, part number: 91089524, up to 5/8 stainless. I don’t have the wall thickness limitations on this tool.

This flare tool works for tubing as small as 3/16" OD. Sorry we do not offer a flare tool for 1/8" OD tubing.
