Q & A

What's in the Box

This is the best flaring tool for the money we have found. It has a ratcheting feed screw with a hardened flaring cone eccentrically mounted in needle bearings which produces a rolling action for even metal flow. This provides uniform wall thickness without galling. It will put a 37 degree flare in 3/16”, 1/4”, 5/16”, 3/8”, ½”, 5/8” and 3/4” tubing. We recommend this tool when flaring 3/16” stainless steel brake line.

  • Provides smooth, uniform flares with minimum effort
  • Ratcheting feed screw handle requires less motion and effort than standard handle
  • Flares steel, stainless steel, hard copper and brass thru wall thickness of .035"

Deluxe Flaring Tool, 37 Degree AN

This is the tool you need to make the 37° flares required for AN fittings. Standard brake and fuel lines are flared at 45° which are not compatible with AN hardware. This tool forms stronger flares assured by a smooth, even radius formed at base of every flare with its precision machined chamfer. Plus, it's also self gauging - just insert tube flush with top of die for accurate flare size.

  • Hardened steel, chrome-finished cone makes exceptionally smooth, high-strength flares with a radius at base of
flare – instead of the sharp angle formed by ordinary tools
  • Slip-on yoke permits use in tight quarters
  • Allows flaring where there is little space between nut and tube end
  • Feed screw design provides smooth, easier operation
  • Positive gripping and self-gauging of tube for exact flare size
  • Sliding die blocks lock in place by clamp action

Works on 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" OD tubing such as aluminum, copper, brass and mild steel.

Standard Tube Flaring Tool, 37 Degree AN

This is the tool you need to make ONLY 37° flares required for AN fittings. This tool will NOT make 45° flares for standard brake and fuel lines which are not compatible with AN hardware. This tool makes a clean, accurate 37° flare every time. Simple and easy to use.

  • Necessary for making ONLY 37° flares for AN fittings
  • Will NOT make 45° flares for standard brake and fuel lines that are NOT compatible with AN hardware
  • Makes a clean, accurate flare every time
  • Simple and easy to use
  • Works on tubing from 3/16" to 5/8"
  • Not recommended for use on stainless steel

Works on 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" OD soft metal tubing such as aluminum, copper and mild steel.

Note: If flaring stainless steel line, we strongly recommend our ratcheting flaring tool 910-89524.

Stainless Steel Brake Line, 3/16 Inch

Our 3/16" stainless steel tubing is made from 304 grade (rated at 6000 psi) which is double annealed to allow easy flaring.

NOTE: This line is intended to be used in conjunction with 37 degree AN # 3 style fittings which make use of a single flare. Stainless steel line will not work with 45 degree double flare 3/8"-24 flare nuts. We strongly suggest that the 37 degree single flare (flaring tool # 910-89524) be used when flaring this line for the AN # 3 tube nuts and sleeves.

Stainless Steel -3 AN Brake Line Kit, 3-Hose, 40 Ft. Tubing

Speedway Motors is again the industry leader by offering a 100% stainless steel brake line kit. We know you don't want to cut corners on something as important as the brake system. Brake fluid and moisture in the brake lines and fittings are highly corrosive and attack softer metals.

Why settle for the anodized aluminum fittings offered by other companies? We start with 3/16" stainless steel tubing of 304 grade (rated at 6000 psi) that is double annealed to allow easy flaring. Then, we offer a variety of fittings made of 303 grade semi-polished stainless for the most corrosion resistant line kit in the industry! Not all fittings are polished, but with a little elbow grease you can have beautiful brake lines.

Designed for conventional live axle rear suspensions. Includes two 20 foot coils of 3/16" stainless steel line, nineteen -3 AN tube nuts, nineteen -3 AN tube sleeves, two -3 AN bulkhead tees, six -3 AN to 1/8"NPT adapters, two 90° -3 AN to 1/8" NPT adapters, one -3 AN straight bulkhead fitting, two -3 AN to 1/8" NPT female thru-frame fittings with stainless jam nuts, three -3 AN 18" braided stainless lines, and three 3/8" bulkhead nuts.

617-8535 Instructions (PDF)

NOTE: These kits are designed to use 37 degree flares only. Do not attempt to use with standard inverted flare brake connectors, which are 45 degree.
