What's in the Box

The 216/235/261 Chevy Six was built from 1937-1962 in cars and trucks. Our tube steel headers allow you to run a split exhaust. If you wish to run exhaust heat to your intake manifold, these headers include weld-on bungs which can be used to pipe heat to your intake manifold. Includes manifold gaskets, collector gaskets, flanges for the dump tubes, and all hardware.

  • 2" outlets
  • 1-3/4" and 2" primary tubes
  • 7/16" thick head flanges

NOTE:   Headers are purposely relieved for additional clearance.

Note: Stainless header tubing when exposed to exhaust temperature will cause the finish to change color which will vary with the exhaust temperature. Please note that the finish of the header when the engine is started, will change to a light champagne color to a darker gold finish and in some instance may even turn dark blue or purple. This can be polished back out when utilizing Blue-away or Simi-chrome polish, but please note that when the headers reach running temperature again, they will immediately change color.  

Notes

  1. The fittings welded to these headers are for those that want to use the original type carb heat tube. If you intend to provide heat to your manifold, you will need to drill a hole in the center of one or both of these fittings and run a tube up to the exhaust passages within the intake manifold. If you do not need to heat your intake, do not drill the holes.
  2. If using the stock clamps, it would be necessary to use shorter studs because of the thickness of the flange on these headers compared to the stock cast iron manifolds. An aftermarket intake manifold would also complicate the stud or bolt length requirements. A spacer may be required to match up the thickness variations between the intake and exhaust manifolds.

Great Headers

Perfect fit, good solid welds, includes all the hardware you could need. I ran these up to 4" stacks and they sound amazing thanks to this set up.

These headers should work fine with your Offenhauser intake manifold. If you are currently hooked up to the exhaust manifold you will need to either run a block off plate without the heat or fabricate a plate that will be plumbed to the weld bungs on these headers. When hooking up to the header you will need to drill a hole in the center of the welded on bungs as they do not come predrilled. The headers are also relieved for the necessary intake manifold clearance.

I see no mounting bosses on the outside shoulders for standard bolt clamps. How do these mount? Would they be compatible with a standard intake? Thanks.

These headers will work with factory intakes and our Offenhauser intakes. Part number 9301213 The bungs welded on the headers are approximately 2-2 ½” up from the flange. They accept the standard original style heat tube. You need to drill a hole into the tube if wanting to run the heat tube or tubes and if you don’t want to use them you don’t need to drill the holes. We apologize the web photo currently does not show the bungs welded on but if you have our catalog it shows the bungs on the photo.

Unfortunately, the 216/235/261 CHEVY 6 CYLINDER HEADERS, part number: 9301213, will not fit a 1969 250ci 6 cylinder Camaro.

I have a '64 Chevy Shortbed Stepside Truck, it has a 230 engine in it, straight 6. I'm pretty sure these headers will fit, but I just want to make sure, do they fit without any problems?

These headers are for 216, 235, and 261 6 cylinder engines only. These will not fit a 230 in a 64 Chevy truck.
