What's in the Box

Info

Complete set of "drop in" dual valve springs for your all-out Ford 2.3 race engine. These springs are designed to be direct drop in springs, with no additional machining of the spring pocket required. Dual springs help to prevent valve bounce much more effectively than the stock single spring style so they can be used in Ford 2300 engines revving up to 9000 RPM.

Springs are sold in sets of 8 only.

Specs

  • 1.600" installed height
  • 110 lb. seat pressure
  • 0.805" I.D.
  • 1.385" O.D.

Nice drop in dual valve springs

September 24, 2016
I was very happy to find a set of high performance valve springs at an online retailer that were already researched and known to drop in my 2.3 Ford turbo engine's head. It is one of the most overlooked areas in a high performance rebuild of a head by do it yourselfers. I would definitely recommend these to a friend.
Pros:
  • Convenient
  • No Guess Work
Yes, I recommend this product.

awesome fit

July 31, 2015
I used these Dual Valve springs in a 1987 2.3L engine and they fit perfectly. They are vary hard to compress but well worth the money. I would suggest using an early model valve spring compressor and not a new model because they're not made for dual springs. I would recommend using an after market cam with the valve springs because of the amount of force they will apply to a stock cam will wear down the cam lobes.
Pros:
  • They fit perfectly
Cons:
  • None
Yes, I recommend this product.

Retainers 91542932 are for use with a Chevy style single groove keeper such as 577555. Retainers 91542938 are for use with stock 2.3 Ford style three groove keepers such as 91519809.

These 2.3L Ford drop in valve springs will require the correct retainers as the stock retainers are not compatible with these springs. Part number 915-42938 is the correct retainer if your engine has stock valves with three groove keepers. Part number 915-42932 is the correct retainer if you have aftermarket Chevy style valves with single groove keepers. For the chevy style valves we offer keeper part number 91599097

is there any work that needs to be done to the spring pocket in the head to accept these springs and can you use the stock retainers. thanks should the inner spring sit up on the step in the spring pocket or should it sit flat on the bottom of the pocket like the outer spring does.

These are a drop in spring and do not require machine work to the head. You will need to get the correct retainers for these springs since the stock retainers are not compatible with these.
