Are these made of ductile iron?

The S-10 drop spindles are made of 2 components. The spindle stub is a machined, high-grade steel part. The upright and caliper bracket portion is a cast steel component. This combination yields a strong, light, economical component.

Will these fit a '79 Chevy Caprice front-end?

These spindles are specific to the ’82-04 S10 pickup and may work on some of the midsize metric chassis cars such as the Monte Carlo. They will NOT work on the full size GM cars and for that application you may want to research Bell Tech for the dropped spindles for your application.

Hello, and thank you for your interest in this set of spindles. These spindles will not change the track width on your S-10. They simply change the spindle location by 2 inches vertically.
