will this work with camel hump heads with no holes in head
Asked on 6/12/2011 6:16:09 PM by david from silver springs NV
This bracket/brace kit was initially designed for the later heads that had the accessory holes. The lower brace utilized a long bolt that went through the brace, the alternator, and into the head. This gives a solid and strong alternator set up. We currently do not recommend using it on heads without the accessory holes and simply using the lower brace and a short bolt and nut to secure the alternator. Premature failure of the brace may occur causing belt loss and possible other under the hood damage.

This is the upper alternator brace and bracket that has the adjuster slot for belt tension adjustment. You will also need the lower bracket that bolts to the accessory holes in the cylinder head. If your cylinder heads do not have the accessory holes you may want to consider part number 91667899, 91667905, or 91667906.

Will this fit driver's side of engine ? Is this all that's needed to mount the alternator ?

This alternator bracket places the alternator on the passenger side and comes with the lower support bracket. It is specific to the long water pump and will not function with a short water pump application.
