Info

With features like welded internals, oversized bearings, and hardened hubs, you can rest assured that these torque converters are of the highest quality possible. Made in the U.S.A.

  • 3500+ stall - 10" diameter 
  • 1968-81 GM TH350 or TH400 - 10-3/4" bolt circle

All stall ranges will vary depending on the engine setup, vehicle weight, and gear ratios.

Note: These converters will work with TH400 transmissions only if a dual bolt pattern flywheel is used.

Item Details

Modified S/B or B/B cars with single plane intake, 400+ hp, weighing 2400-3200 lbs, cam adv lift over .500" with 3.73-4.56 gears, or lighter vehicles not as modified.
These make use of 7/16" bolts.

Notes

  1. All advertised stall ranges will vary depending on your engine's setup and the weight of your vehicle. If your car is heavier than the recommendation, the stall speed will be higher. If the car is lighter, stall speed will be at a lower RPM.

    • Stator fins are formed, not cut - cut stators can cause severe slippage
    • Rapidly dissipates heat - more power to the wheels

    • Pre-stressed before welding - more rigid construction
    • Heat treated splines
  • Aluminum Spacers
    • Incorporates aircraft quality aluminum spacers which handle higher loads than fiber spacers found in standard converters
  • Oversized Bearings
    • High strength stamped bearings absorb shock and extreme abuse better than standard waffle bearings

    • Positive-charged, military grade MIG welds for complete fusion of the metal

Night and Day Difference!

I am a professional automotive technician that was simply looking for a weekend project. I've been waiting for awhile to do a Torque Converter swap and the chance had arrived when I saw this product. Lots of bang for the buck !

I use this 3500 stall converter In a 1932 ford coupe street strip car powered by a cammed up zz4. Even with this converter I can still drive to the track or just go cruising. Launches hard. Can't beat the price too.

would this be a good fit for my 31 ford with 350 sbc the car weighs about 2400, 350 SBC with 10:1 compression, comp cams #12-601-4, single 4 barrel tunnel ram, 4:10 rear gear, 31" tall firestone radials, i built this car for occasional short cruises and car shows, i run open sprint car headers, this car looks and sounds nasty, i have a 2200 stall now and it almost dies when i put it in gear, i need a loss converter at idle, i am also looking at part # 109603 any suggestions ? thanks

This converter could certainly be used in your application but it may have a little more stall than needed. You should be able to get by with a converter like 109601 which is a 2700 to 3000 RPM stall and not have as much "loose converter feel"

Whenever you are selecting a converter, the most vital and relevant piece of information is you camshaft duration. Matching your converter stall to your camshaft is the best way to make the most of your machine.

This torque converter has a stall of 3500 rpms which would be too much for a T-bucket application. The recommended converter to use would be our p/n of 109601 which has rpms of 2700-3000.
