Do these require the use of any other engine mounts or will these and a trans mount fasten the drive train to the car? I am looking at around 600HP in a custom application but mounting to the heads makes things much simpler.

Those motor mounts along with the transmission mounts should be sufficient to mount the drive train in a car under normal street driven conditions. If this is for drag racing the most racers use a front and mid mount engine plate because of the added stress that racing puts on the drive train assembly.
Q:
removing 300 6 cyl from 1978 4 wd with 4 speed trans. putting 302 8 cyl back in place of original 6 cyl. will theese mounts work with this project?

These brackets mount the common small block Ford 289-302 in most applications with the use of the bolt through cushion kit number 7209314 and the correct frame mounts. Frame mounts are NOT available for all applications and may need to be fabricated in order to achieve the correct engine mounting location and height. In the case of a replacement engine for an inline motor you may want to research the correct frame brackets for the application to use in conjunction with the stock motor mount cushions. We also offer a small block Ford cross member to use with the OEM style rubber motor mounts under part number 91618013 and if needed the rubber motor mounts number 91018013.

I have a stock '74 351W. Will these mounts work on the stock heads? If so, what is the distance between frame mounting surface when installed on the heads?

These mounts work in most stock heads and center to center where the mount brackets meet the frame is 20”. Designed to work with the other frame brackets offered along with cushion kit number 7209314.
