What's in the Box

Info

These rear coils are desgined to lower your truck, while still maintaining a proper spring rate to keep your suspension from bottoming out. They work great on six-cylinder and V8 trucks, but may not be suited for panels, Suburban or heavy duty towing applications.

The free height of this spring is 10-3/4". The manufacturer says that this spring has the same "rate" as the stock spring, app. 300 lbs.

Note: The drop rate is different on the A-Body cars than it is on the trucks. There is a 3" drop in the truck and 1" drop on the Chevelle.

Application:

  • 1967-1972 GM A Body Cars
  • 1960-1972 Chevy Trucks
  • 1967-1972 Chevelle

Why can´t I use this to Paneltruck

These springs are designed for a pickup that is a daily driver/show vehicle. They are not intended for the high load capacity that a Panel Truck, Suburban, or heavy towing/hauling application requires. The spring rate is too soft for these applications and as a result the rear of the truck will "squat" considerably.

Part number 91006033 Shocks need to be near center of their stroke when the truck is sitting at ride height. For a simple test you can remove the lower end of your shock when the weight is on the vehicle and fully extend the shock and note the length. Then fully compress the shock and note the length. Midway between these two measurements is desired ride height. Compare to current mount length and subtract the 3 “ for the lowered springs. This will determine need for shock relocater kit.

With a 4 inch drop spring you are right at the limit, some guys will go ahead and use the bolt in C- notch kit incase they would ever over load there pickup.

The 3" Drop Rear Springs, 1960-'72 Chevy Item # 91006033, has a spring rate the same as the stock one that was originally installed on the 1960-1972 Chevy pickup. The spring rate of the original equipment spring is 300 psi. They have been wound to produce a 3 inch drop, as compared to the original spring.
