The 3" Drop Rear Springs, 1960-'72 Chevy Item # 91006033, has a spring rate the same as the stock one that was originally installed on the 1960-1972 Chevy pickup. The spring rate of the original equipment spring is 300 psi. They have been wound to produce a 3 inch drop, as compared to the original spring.

With a 4 inch drop spring you are right at the limit, some guys will go ahead and use the bolt in C- notch kit incase they would ever over load there pickup.

do I need the shock relocater kit if I only use the 3 inch drop rear springs?
Asked on 11/6/2011 2:00:50 AM by craig b blue from martinsburg,w.va.
Part number 91006033 Shocks need to be near center of their stroke when the truck is sitting at ride height. For a simple test you can remove the lower end of your shock when the weight is on the vehicle and fully extend the shock and note the length. Then fully compress the shock and note the length. Midway between these two measurements is desired ride height. Compare to current mount length and subtract the 3 “ for the lowered springs. This will determine need for shock relocater kit.
