This is a conversion kit for the 1957 Chevy steering column, this will allow you to use the later GM steering boxes #500, 600, 605 models and will not change the length of your stock steering column.

This is a conversion for the 57 Chevy factory column with automatic to update the steering gear from original to an aftermarket 500, 600, or 605 power steering box. The original column shaft goes inside the steering gear and to upgrade you need to disassemble the column, shorten the shaft, install a lower bearing, etc. This kit includes the new shaft and all parts when switching gear boxes.
