We apologize for any confusion but steering wheel adapter number 44626121 will NOT adapt this steering wheel number 9101957 to a later GM column of 69-94 as previously advertised.

Steering Wheel Swap My car was built using your 91032715 Ford 1940 wheel on the 69-94 GM tilt column. I would like to replace it with your 9101957 Chevy 1957 wheel. What is involved in doing this swap?

The 9101957 steering wheel for the 1957 Chevy is designed as an OEM replacement in smaller size. The adapter we have listed to put the wheel on the 69-94 GM columns or aftermarket columns has not worked out and as of yet a correct adapter is not available.

Does this wheel need to be modified like the original wheel, so that it will fit on a Ididit chevy tilt steering column (4461257)? Or will it just bolt right on without the modification?

This wheel will not work on the Ididit column. The Ididit column takes a different adapter as compared to the 57 when installing an aftermarket 3 bolt wheel.

Will this steering wheel easily install to the Tilt Steering column from Flaming River. Flaming River tech support states that "An original or replica of the original with an 11/16"-36 thread will accept the top shaft of our column without the use of an adapter. However, an original style wheel will need to be modified to allow for proper horn and turn signal functionality with our turn signal canceling stem." Can you confirm this?

This steering wheel is meant to go on an original 57 column using original horn and turn signal components. As of yet modification to this steering wheel and use of an aftermarket adapter to Flaming River, Ididit, or Speedway columns has not proven to be acceptable and we apologize for any confusion and prior information.
