What is the proper procedure for installing the drag link to the pitman arm ball after replacing the kit parts. How is the end cap set? For example should the end cap be screwed in until it's bottomed, then backed off 1/2 turn, and cotter pin installed, or ????? Thanks tg

Procedure varies from supplier but your scenario of tighten till bottoms out and back off a turn could be used. Most installed breakdowns show the cotter pin near the top of the slot. There are four assembly videos to watch by simply looking up 55-57 Chevy drag link repair procedure for some insight into the undertaking.
