Answer this question
A:
The front cradle that you mention could certainly be used for mounting an engine in your chassis, but I believe there are better options.
I suggest that you consider using side mounts for the engine (better to hold the weight and control torque reaction) such as our 720-4175 (for the 1955 Chevy car chassis), the 910-18040 or possibly our 910-18031 mounts. Each of these will require a certain amount of fabrication or “customization” for your chassis, but would serve to hold the engine very well.
I might suggest our tubular transmission mount crossmember 916-28903 for mounting your 700R4.

A:
This Specially designed engine cradle mount will allow you to install a SBC into most chassis when using our universal bolt thru cushion mount kit p/n 7209314. You may have to fabricate the frame mounts on your Buick to accept the cushion mounts. You can also look at our 49-54 Chevy frame mount p/n 1353273 or 55-57 Chevy frame mount p/n 1353298 to see if you could adapt these onto your Buick. Speedway Motors also offers universal transmission crossmembers to complete your installation, look at p/n's 91628902, 91628903, 91628904 for some examples.
