These Speedway headers allow you to keep the exhaust system under your '55-'57 Chevy car. The "3/4-length" design provides more ground clearance than full-length headers, yet makes more power than "shorty" style headers. These chassis headers fit 283-400 S/B Chevy V8s and has 1-5/8" primary tubes with 2-1/2" collectors.
Available in plain steel or with the durable, attractive Armor Hot Coat ceramic coating.
(Please use the chart below to help with dimensions.) Drivers side A dimension is 3-1/2" up by the head and 5-5/8" at the collector, B dimension is 15", and C dimension is 21". Passenger side A dimension is 4" at the head and 6-5/8" at the collector, B is 15", and C is 21".

I bought these headers for a '57 Chevy truck that I am rebuilding. Nice fit for 350 and 700R4
They bolt up nice, I matched these to the engine side mount kit and work great. They clear the 6cyl pitman arm also, no real big problems that i ran into.

WILL THESE WORK ON RACK&PINION ?
Asked on 8/11/2011 3:17:48 PM by 55SAC from CHICAGO
These Tri-5 headers are designed for use with standard steering configurations. If running an aftermarket rack and pinion conversion as offered by Speedway you may be interested in part # 930C5 as these are specific to the Tri-5’s with rack and pinion steering. The drivers side header has specific dimensions to allow for steering shaft clearance.

what modifications are needed to the standard clutch linkage? Angle plug heads????
Asked on 10/17/2011 2:12:29 PM by Nomad from Shelby NC
Part # 930C7 These headers do NOT work with angle plug heads and will not clear the stock mechanical clutch linkage. Modification of the linkage for clearance is up to the installer or you could opt for a hydraulic throw out bearing. Requires use of side engine mounts with engine in stock location and clears the standard steering gear or 605 box with the V8 pitman arm.

Do these headers curve closer to the block, like the block huggers?
Asked on 11/27/2011 8:01:52 AM by billy from Airway Heights, WA
Part # 930C7 These headers do not wrap inward towards the block in similar fashion as the block huggers or tight fit headers. We do offer part number 930C32 which does fit close to the block and in our catalog and on our website there are thumbnail photos that show them installed on an engine.
