Reasonable for the price

These required some adjustments to the inner fender well to make fit. Overall quality seems good, but the welds around the flange seem a little cheap (from the outside there are gaps that are hard to paint in, which may rust later). The flange fit to the head was a bit snug and took a lot of work to get all the bolts lined up and threaded in.

Will these headers clear the steering box on the steering column and the oil filter? It looks like it might be difficult to change the oil filter with these headers. My pickup has a 292 y block.

Yes and no. The headers fit well and clear all other components, however the canister style original oil filter cannot be removed from the chassis after being removed from the motor. A spin on modern oil filter conversion is required

Yes these headers will clear the steering box and column on 1953 to 1964 F100. Changing the oil filter will be more difficult but is certainly do-able.

When using these headers with the parallel leaf springs (even drop springs) setting under the frame rails clearance to the headers should not be an issue.

These headers are designed to fit the 1953 to 64 Ford F100 pickups and should also work on the ¾ and 1 ton applications. For verification you can take some basic dimensions for comparison. * A = 5" - From head surface at flange to the outermost part of the header tubes. * B = 19" - Top of header flange to lowest point of header tubes. * C = 30" - Front of header flange to farthest point rearward at collector.

These headers p/n 9308422 are designed to fit 1953-64 Ford F100 pick-ups with a 272-312 Y-block engine. They feature an offset bolt hole on the outside end tubes to match the cylinder head bolt pattern. They have 1-5/8" primaries and 3" collectors and the set comes with bolts, gaskets, and reducers. The reducers are 3" at the inlet end, 2-1/4" OD at the outlet end.

* These headers do not carry any notation or warning pertaining to the stock 3 speed column mount linkage and from the photo the configuration tends to confirm that they should clear. Some dimensions to work with for fit verification is as follows: A = 5" - From head surface at flange to the outermost part of the header tubes. * B = 19" - Top of header flange to lowest point of header tubes. * C = 30" - Front of header flange to farthest point rearward at collector. For further specifications and fit verification you may want to check with Pertronix (manufacturer) direct.

This header set comes with bolts,gaskets and reducers. The reducers are 3"at the inlet end, 2-1/4"OD at the outlet end.

You can use reducers such as 91013751 or if you want 3" exhaust and mufflers simply weld a collector ring such as 91013370 to the 3" tubing.
