I have a question about the wiring of this unit This unit is shown as the 2 wire unit but the wiring diagram attached is based on 3 wires with an extra loose red wire coming back from the resistor but this unit doesn't have the additional third loose red wire, just the ignition wire that runs through the resistor and the tachometer wire. I am interested in the 2 wire unit but would like to confirm wiring . Thanks John Bendigo, Australia

We apologize but the photo is a bit out dated. Currently there is a third red wire that comes out through the grommet in the same place as the two wires shown in the photo. There is a not a two wire unit available any longer.

The manufacturer of the mag look distributor for the 49-53 flathead does not indicate the necessity to use a different timing cover or alteration of the original. For further insight you may want to call JOE HUNT @ 916-635-5387

Flathead mag look distributor number 91015265 requires resistor core wires without ends at the distributor and the holes in the cap will not except extra big wires. Kit such as 91064200 or 69870051 would be suggested.
