What's in the Box

Info

After more than fifty years of use, the original upper shock mounts on the front of your vintage Ford pickup are likely worn out, damaged or missing. These forged steel upper shock mounts are reproductions of those used on 1948-1952 Ford F1 trucks, but are also adaptable to other beam-axle hot rods. The F1 shock mounts were popular on early-style hot rods where an upgrade to telescoping shocks over lever shocks was desired.

Forged from the finest steel, these zinc-plated mounts are available in 5-1/2" or 6-1/2" lengths (measured from the centerline of the stud to the center of the top bolt hole) and accept shocks with 5/8" I.D. bushings. Hardware is included.

Hot rod shock mounts

October 27, 2015
The product is a better size than what was originally put on this old hot rod. The mounting holes are close together. Height is great. Just what I need for my 34 ford hot rod.
Pros:
  • Good Size To Suit 34 Rod
Yes, I recommend this product.

These shock mounts would not be recommended for your application. Even when used on the 48-52 Ford pickups they did not support the weight of the truck. Part number 715150 is an example of what we use for shock mounts on our T bucket but we regret that we do not offer a coil over mount as you need. We would deter from suggesting a basic shock mount for front end support using coil overs without reinforcement as needed.

Upper shock mounts 91036008 can be used on your 47 pickup as well as the 48-52 as well as many other vehicles like they have been over the decades. Lower mount depends on the application and ride height of vehicle so that readily available shocks can be used.

I'am building a T Bucket with a small block 350 and a 350 turbo 350 trans. Will these shock mounts (upper 910-36008),(lower 910-36103) and shocks (106-1060) all work together? Thanks for the help. Tom

The shock brackets and shocks will work together as long as when installed at ride height with the weight on the suspension the shocks have 50-60% of the stroke available for compression when hitting a bump. Your axle must use perch bolts and they need to be long enough to accommodate the lower shock brackets and nut. We offer longer perches such as 91033047 if needed.
