Works well

September 09, 2015
Works and fits well. I had entire dash out of my 40 Ford so install was fairly easy. It will be a bear to do with all the under dash stuff there. But so would any motor. Seems to fit and work well. Yes I would buy one again if I had a 2nd car...
Yes, I recommend this product.

perfect fit

October 29, 2014
This is a great replacement for the factory vacuum motor. It is self parking and runs quiet. You have to remove the left shaft and use two open adjustable wrenches to slightly twist the flat arm. The right side can be done in the car without removing. Minor tweaking at best. Nice fit and the switch fits in the stock hole. Comes with bolts and arm lock clip with spring.
Pros:
  • $25 cheaper than competitor for the same motor.
Cons:
  • no instructions but you really don't need any.
Yes, I recommend this product.

I would not recommend this item to anoth

August 15, 2014
This product came with no instructions. After stumbling through the installation, I realized the original 1940 arms to the fulcrum needed to be bent to work the wipers. While bending the arms, I broke the left arm at the wiper end. That forced me to order replacement items from Dennis Carpenter. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Cons:
  • difficult to install no instructions.
No, I would not recommend this product.

Product works okay.

The wiper conversion kit didn't come with any installation instructions! Normal person kit would never know how to install wipers without instructions.Only thing in box was receipt of purchase.
No, I would not recommend this product.

Nice piece thats fairly priced

October 23, 2013
Used this conversion kit in modified form on an old dodge truck to replace the vacuum system. The mounting bracket is very heavy and can be easily modified to fit many vehicles. Transmission connected right up to the linkage with no mod's. It's prewired and comes with a nice universal style switch.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Excellent upgrade for a '40 Ford!

September 26, 2013
This product works great. It also came with the spring retainer and bushings. Prewired harness made things simple. Does not come with instructions but is relatively simple to install. It also keeps the "park" position the same as a stock wiper motor.
Pros:
  • easy insall
Cons:
  • No instructions

With a few adjustments -it's a go!

July 27, 2012
Used the wiper kit on a rebuilt street rod. 1939 Buick. Had to make a few adjustment but it now works for my needs. There are other kits that I was not aware of at the time but it all worked out for me.
Pros:
  • Reliable

This kit is listed for the 40 Ford passenger only and works with the existing transmission arms in the '40. You may want to check with Vintique in california for availability for your '38.

I bought this wiper motor some time back and installed it then. Since that time a couple of wires had become disconnected from the switch. Now the lowspeed and park function do not function properly. Could someone there pull one from stock, look at the wiring connections and relay to me which wire goes to which terminal. Thank you

we are glad to be of service on the wiring. Red connects to the B terminal and going around clockwise the L terminal is the yellow wire, the H terminal has the white wire, and the P terminal has the green wire.
