The 32 body is not straight and it bellies out to the widest point at the door pillar giving the maximum inside width of 44” for seat room. On the outside it is almost 50” at the top but narrows towards the bottom. At the cowl you are about 36 ½” at the widest point at the body line.

Channeling? How would one channel this body? I am no expert with fiberglass

If you don't know how to fiberglass "confidently", don't cut into anything especially not an $8000 body. Go find one the way you want it already "channeled" or change your plans. Learning how to work with fiberglass correctly including "cure times and curing hardness" is not something you short cut doing before you attempt 70mph going down Interstate 95.

Channelling the Rod Action fiberglass 32 body will be very similar to channeling a steel body. The floor would need to be cut out and risers made on the inside of the body to refiberglass the floor back in place. The firewall would need to be altered to accept the higher floor and also in the back where the trunk floor attaches to the body. The reinforcement below the rear window to the floor would need to be shortened and reattached to the floor. The body below the floor would need to be plated with fiberglass and finished off for the required strength. The undertaking is time consuming and if unfamiliar with channeling and fiberglass work it may be suggested to contact qualified builders.

The Rod Action 32 coupe has 2” chop in the top leaving sufficient room for most drivers and passengers. Head room for taller persons can be achieved by the appropriate height seat or seat mounts. As with any early era hot rods the cabin space is limited so matching the seat dimensions and lay out is critical in achieving the best combination for driver/passenger comfort.

We have two methods of getting the wires thru the door jambs the first one is Jam tacs p/n 910-40022 which sounds like you will not have room for. The other are door wire looms p/n 910-69270 which fold into the door or body when the door is closed. Both are going to require a little bit of room to install.

This body has a gel coat finish but will absolutely need final prep work and painted. The gel coat is now white instead of red.
