What's in the Box

Info

Said to be its most popular flathead intake, Offenhauser’s 2x2 Regular intake has closely spaced carbs that will clear the stock generator. The Offy regular dual intake accepts two 3-bolt carbs. Great addition to a street oriented engine. Has 4-3/4" carb centers.

Has room for generator in stock location, but generally requires an offset bracket. If using a GM alternator, use our chrome 916-67909 or plain 916-67910 bracket.

  • Carb Centers:  4-3/4"
  • For 1932-48 Ford Flatheads

Notes

Specifically designed to fit 1932-48 models, which allowed Offy to move the carbs 1-inch further forward compared to the competitors intakes. This relocation was worth 2.8 more peak horsepower over the competitors but at the cost of 1.2 lb-ft less torque. Overall, the Offy had slightly better overall average power and torque numbers. This twin carb set up produces better numbers than Offy’s single four-barrel intakes.

Note: If used with our progressive linkage kit, the front carburetor will need to be set as the primary.

Worst quality ever

December 17, 2015
the first one I received was in Japanese Newspaper and looked as if a two-year-old mad it. All the threads were chased and some I was going to have to drill out and replace with hell coils. I ended up calling them for a new one and the other one was of just as bad quality. I tried to install the stud for the generator/fan assembly and half way through trying to ins all it the stud ripped out 5 threads. DO NOT buy if you plan on having a lot of headaches and wasting a lot of time trying to fix something thats just gonna break next time you use it. I want my money back
Pros:
  • Good looking
Cons:
  • Pain To Keep Clean
  • Terrible Quality
No, I would not recommend this product.

The majority of the Offenhauser 2 carb intakes number are now arriving with a vacuum port on the drivers side of the rear carburetor casting. If not a port can be drilled and tapped for an 1/8” NPT barbed fitting for vacuum needs.

Can this manifold be used on a 1951 engine? I have no need to retain the stock road draft tube and use an electric fuel pump.

Using this intake for a 32-48 Ford will work on your 49-53 with the exception of the number of bolts per side. The earlier gasket would block the bolt holes if not desired to use or you could use the later 49-53 gasket and mark and drill the hole to utilize the number of bolt holes in your later block. The boss’s are already on the intake but simply not drilled and the surface machined smooth.

I want to use this set up with a 12V alternator mounted in its original position. Does Speedway have a package with their Speedy Carbs?

Our 2 carb/intake package 925 -160 should work for this application. This package should permit you to use a GM alternator in the same spot where the generator used to be. The GM alternator is more compact than the original generator.
