Fit a steering wheel with modern 3-hole pattern to 1928-1948 Ford steering column. Steel hub with 7° taper. Works with all Grant wheels.
Installs onto steering column.
I used it on a 52 Ford. drilled installed set screws, but it works fine.
Very nice part. 1/4-28 threads. Taper is right and the keyway, too. Nice finish and it's plated. Well made.

If this adapter is used,is there any way to use the original horn wire or to install a horn button on the wheel, and does it leave much of a gap between the collum and the adapter?

You inquired about our adapter number 91632765 which adapts an aftermarket 3 bolt steering wheel to the early 28-48 tapered and keyed column shaft. The dimensions are as follows: Top of Taper = .755" Bottom of Taper = .680" Length of Taper = 1.130" Keyway Width = 3/16" Lower Flange Thickness = .360" Now to utilize a horn button and your existing wire I would suggest our steering wheel adapter kit number 4103196 which has more than what you need but is the most economical way. If your horn wire runs up the center of the shaft it would be possible to use these components. Other than that you will need to drill a hole in the adapter through which to run the wire. I would need to know your exact application to give any other suggestions.
