Great fit to the 27 roadster body

July 21, 2015
The final finish was left with Ruff edges. I will have to smooth out and re-bead blast.
Yes, I recommend this product.

very good fitment

March 15, 2015
I found the posts very well made and the fit was very close to the body. I was able to lean them back a full 20 degrees instead of the suggested 15 which makes the windshield angle to the body look better. I was able to wet sand and polished the raw aluminum to a very bright and shiny luster. I would recommend them .
Yes, I recommend this product.

HOW ARE THEY SECURED TO THE BODY/

The customer will determine how these posts are mounted to the body. Most likely: drill and tap a couple of holes on the underside of the posts and use studs, nuts, and washers to secure them. These cast aluminum posts have had the "rough-stuff" ground off, and they have been bead-blasted for a uniform exterior surface.

These posts are not drilled and tapped and left to the customer to do so in their desired location. There is no glass template as bodies from different suppliers and originals differ in the body contour. Simply mount in desired location while keeping the two posts symmetrical with each other and parallel. A gasket is not included and also up to the builders discretion. Once installed a basic template or pattern from cardboard can be cut and furnished to the glass shop for cutting to the specific dimension. No mounting hardware included

Are these posts designed to fit an origional '27 (steel) body? And are they meant to be run without a windshield frame-i.e. does the glass just install in each side-is that adequate support?

These posts fit the majority of the stock bodies and our Speedway T bodies. It is commonly possible that the post will require some grinding and shaping to perfectly fit the contour of the body. In the early years exact standards seemed to vary from one body to the next and the contour could vary. The glass slides into the 3/8" wide channel with the use of setting tape or welting or glue in with modern day urethane. The top cap on the post retains the glass and is secured by a recessed set screw.

1. What is the height of the post? 2. Does the glass fit right into the frame or does it need a windshield frame. 3. If so, how much for the frame?
