beautiful floor

October 09, 2014
The floor section for the 27 T body is down right beautiful. The fitment to the body was great, but what I like is the attention to detail in the ribbing and the smoothness of the gel coat. Everyone who has come to look at the project has commented on how good the underside of the floor looks. It is smoother than some body exteriors I have built before.
Yes, I recommend this product.

what a time saver!

This product is well manufactured and well designed. The integral tunnel and foot pan is not only very functional but also it is very appealing to the eye. The offset flange for the floor to body adhesion area is "well-thought-out". Comparing yesteryears methods of installing a floor in a fiberglass bodied car of using marine plywood and resin mixing and cutting small strips of glass mat material for bondig and then fabricating a tunnel and driveshaft hump , this floor panel take into account all of these nuances and make this job a dream...........
Pros:
  • upset flange into rear for kick up
  • integral tunnel
  • superb fit
  • offset flanged edges
  • a designed product
  • stiffenning ribbing
Cons:
  • should be optioned for 10 1/8" shortened
Yes, I recommend this product.

no glass is required - I used suregrip 15 minute two part urethane adhesive - avail from a body supply store (Cross Canada) .....I predrilled holes for alignment and used wooden blocks and roofing screws that have the little rubber grommets $11.00 from home depot............applied the glue and stered running the screws thru the floor and body flange - holding a wooden block below to clamp up the two panels -----.the fit is perfect ------

The factory 26-27 Ford T had metal sub-rails with plywood floors. This fiberglass floor pan fits our body farley nice but to be used in a channeled car there would be a lot of glass work, this floor could be glassed into our body and then placed on your frame marked and cut for channeling then glassed over the frame rails for the depth of the channeling keeping the floor in the center as low as you can so your not seating to high in the car. Some times builders will have supports tabs welded on the inside of your frame rails so that the floor has something to set on helping to prevent flex.

The 26-27 floor could be modified to work in the 23-25 T bucket. If you have one of our current Speedway bodies we now offer them with the floor installed and the floor components can be purchased individually if desired. The flat floor for our unchanneled body is number 7152210 and the transmission tunnel is part number 715B10214. The plywood for the firewall is also available if needed.

This fiberglass floor is used in our Track T kit but can be used in other applications and normally without extra reinforcing except possibly in the seat mounting area.
