Item Details

Right Hand Side Only

Notes

This door kit only works with the right hand side - it does not flow with body lines of the left side. In May of 1996 we changed to a new 1923 T body mold which has a different door curve. If you have a body made before this date or a body from a different manufacturer, please call 1-800-979-0122 to order our old style door kit.

How do I identify if it is your body or not I just purchased a T-Bucket in beautiful condition. I need to install a door in the passenger side. I have no idea of the origin of the body and the person I purchased this from doesn't know either. Is there some body ID that would tell me if this is a body made and sold by you? I just need to know if I should order "old" or "new".

We apologize for any confusion but the T bucket bodies are not are not marked or labeled by part number or with Speedway name. If you are unsure of the manufacturer we typically suggest the old style door kit. The new design began on our Speedway bodies in 1996 with a different contour of the body.

This part number actually relates to both the current production Speedway T buckets and the earlier style body which was before May 1,1996 which is referred to as the “old style” body. If unsure of the manufacturer we suggest the old style as it will probably be closer to the contour and shape of the body. There is no guarantee that the compound curvature of the door will match other manufacturers bodies as there are several variations available to the public.

When the hinges are installed, the door will not open. When the hinges are installed with the door open the door will not close. The hinges push the door on the opposite side of the hinges past the door opening in the bucket. I have tried smaller hinges and repositioning hinges all with the same results. Any ideas?

On the door kit the body requires a wooden frame work to be bonded inside the main body for the necessary strength and then the hinges require notching the body the necessary amount and in some cases the door in order to get adequate clearance around the entire door opening.

We apologize but the 23-25 T buckets are of different dimensions and therefore the door kit for the 23-25 will not be applicable to the 27 roadster body. The right hand door for the 27 is number 9002702-RH and the Jam in your existing body would require fabrication by the installer.
