What's in the Box

These 1917-1923 T-Bucket radiators are built to work without a grille shell and look good doing it! Speedway T-bucket radiators do not use a conventional "pressure" radiator cap, rather they use the decorative "T" caps to seal the neck at the top of the radiator. A hidden pop-off valve (sold separately) is used for pressure control. Gasket # 91112222 is very helpful for sealing the decorative "T" caps.

Features Chevy position outlets, auto transmission cooler, and approx. 1 gallon capacity. These accept "T" radiator caps and accessories, but are not included.

  1. The upper neck is left of center about 6".
  2. 4" upper tank thickness, 3" strap thicknes that encases the core, 2.25" core
  3. Uses 2 each 1" wide core tube
  4. Choose from buffed or polished

Nice radiator

August 03, 2014
Looks good, doesn't need a shell. Have only test run the engine with it and a 14in elect fan. Needs to cool better. Put on a 16in fan, no thermostat, we'll see how that works.
Pros:
  • looks good w/o a shell
Cons:
  • could use some fan mounting holes and/or brackets
Yes, I recommend this product.

No that grille shell will not fit this radiator. The only radiators that fit that shell are the Walker radiators such as 820C4811, 820Z4811, 820BC4811, and 820BZ4811

You'll need to make your own shroud if you need one.

EricM
Using the electric fan number 91015449-16 will not require a fan shroud as it needs to set very close to the core. Use a good mounting kit such as 10680197 to secure the fan and we suggest staying away from the plastic ties or threaded rods going thru the core.

We apologize but currently the aluminum radiators number 91015600 are only offered with the upper hose on the drivers side and the lower hose on the passenger side. The Walker radiator number 820BZ4811 is available with a passenger side upper neck and the fill neck is on the drivers side. The Afco aluminum also we apologize is not available in the Ford configuration but a custom build would be an option.

The aluminum radiator number 91015600 accepts the cap number 91112211 which is drilled but you would also need the Motor Meter number 91112232 as one example to fill the hole. Or you could use the undrilled version number 91112216 if that would better fit your needs. The gaskets number 91112222 will be needed as well as the relief valve number 91015805. This radiator will NOT fit in our steel grille shell as so desired. It will work in the fiberglass shell with minor trimming but the steel is too tight.

The 16in Zirgo 3000cfm fan works perfect, you just need to do some modifications to the radiator to mount it.

Part number 91015600 Speedway offers choice between a black fan # 910153-16 and a chrome fan # 91015449-16 which are both in 16” and work on the T bucket radiators. You will also need the desired mounting kit and the control to turn the fan on. Several options are available.

Part # 91015600 This radiator is plumbed in the upper tank to accept the pressure relief valve part number 91015805. The valve has female thread and a coupler and hose barb nipple can be installed to route the coolant to a reservoir or catch can if so desired.

It's aluminum so i'm going to paint mine or polish it. Any good auto primer should work fine.
August 31, 2011
John
The aluminum radiators can be painted but you will need to use the proper radiator paint. To use heavy primers and paint will dramatically reduce the cooling efficiency of the aluminum radiator. The aluminum will need to be properly cleaned and etched for the paint to adhere. You may want to check with a radiator shop in your area or a local automotive paint supplier for the appropriate cleaner/etch and paint.

Zirgo 16in fan and relay controls.

With the core width and height you may want to consider electric fan number 91015449-16 which pulls 2100 cfm and should sufficiently cool the small block V8’s. This would be a chrome fan to compliment the aluminum radiator. For mounting to the aluminum radiator we suggest kit number 10680197.

Pressure valve and cap. Overflow tank is useless.

When using this radiator you will also need the suggested relief valve number 91015805 and this can be plumbed to a catch can or overflow tank. You will also need the gaskets for the fill neck under part number 91112222 and the appropriate cap. An example in brass would be part number 91112201, or in chrome under part number 91112211. We also offer the decorative and nostalgic versions that use the cap, wreath, and the moto-meters if so desired.
