Excellent product for the cost

Great steering wheel for the bucks nice oversized wheel with dimples on backside for griping the wheel. I will buy this setup ( wheel and column) for all my street rods. I especially like the quick disconnect steering wheel, you can park your rod and take the steering wheel with you.
Pros:
  • Low Price
Cons:
  • None
Yes, I recommend this product.

Nice and lightweight

July 29, 2014
I like the lightweight and feel of the wheel, only problem is the grip buttons/studs are pressed in and I have had a few come off and lost in just a couple of races. Something more permanent would work better
Pros:
  • Lightweight
Cons:
  • studs are coming off and getting lost.
Yes, I recommend this product.

What column adapter should I be using for this wheel I have Steering column # 91032976, Adapter # 4103196 and steering wheel # 9103278. The adapter goes onto the column and with the post cover in place there is a 1/4" gap between it and the column. You can see the blinkers from the passenger side of the car. I have tried everything I can think of, even a half in ratchet and it will not go down further. I don't want to destroy the column or strip the threads on the shaft. Also I need to use the 1/4" holes in the wheel so the horn will work and they do not line up with the adapter. If I use the 5/16" holes the horn mechanism will not move and will be in contact with the wheel at all times. I built this entire car so I feel like I am pretty good at figuring stuff out but I am stuck. Hope you can help. Dale

The 1/4" bolt holes should be used to bolt the steering wheel to the adapter. If they are not perfectly aligned with the bolt holes of the adapter I have drilled the steering wheel just slightly larger in order for everything to line up. Also this steering wheel is primarily intended for a racing application so there is no hole for the horn plunger to pass through the steering wheel. If you want a functioning horn button you will need to drill a hole out larger for the plunger and spring to pass through the wheel properly. At times the cover that Grant supplies with the adapter does not completely cover the gap between the steering wheel and the column. Some people will leave it as is and others will either modify the cover or make one of their own. Sorry I do not offer covers of different lengths.
